My experience of traveling on the Vande Bharat Express from Nagercoil to Chennai with my son

Introduction:


The Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is an advanced, semi-high-speed, and fully indigenous train service launched in 2019 by the Indian Railways. Here are some key details:


1. Speed and Performance:


  • The Vande Bharat Express has a top speed of 160 km/h and aims to reduce travel time on busy routes, making long-distance travel faster and more convenient.

2. Design and Comfort:


  • The train features modern, state-of-the-art amenities, such as ergonomically designed seating, Wi-Fi, advanced air-conditioning, bio-vacuum toilets, onboard refreshments, and automatic doors.
  • It has been designed with safety features like anti-collision technology (Train Collision Avoidance System - TCAS) and fire-resistant materials.

3. Indigenous Manufacturing:


  • The Vande Bharat Express is fully made in India. It is manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, under the "Make in India" initiative.


4. Routes:


  • The first Vande Bharat Express was launched in 2019, connecting New Delhi and Varanasi. As of Jan 2025, there are 66 routes.

5. My Experience:


  • My son Jaden and I had an opportunity to explore the Vande Bharat Express which is running from Nagercoil to Chennai Egmore on Sep 9th, 2024. I was mesmerized by the speed and amenities. Personally, I don't like the snacks and food served on the train. Passengers have an option to skip the meals and pay a reduced amount for the ticket. The train is clean and helpers are available all the time to help the passengers. The seat comfort, AC and restrooms are all great. The pricing of the ticket is also reasonable, and the travel duration is 4 hours less compared to other trains on this route and omni buses.

I would like to share about my passion towards Cooking…. When it started? People who inspired me by their cooking talents....and my motivators ……… only positive comments…. Do you have a favorite sibling?

I have only one sibling "Shibu Alex Raj" and obviously he is my favorite. Although he is grown up and a doctor by profession he will remain my sweet little brother.
